The History of the SketchGallery

In mid-November of '99, something very odd happened. I started to sketch in the pages of my journal, into which up until that time I'd been only jotting notes and observations. This in itself wouldn't seem so strange, except that I've never really been much of an artist (and, after looking at these drawings, you may agree!) It's almost as if some strange force decided that I should draw stuff at this point in my life. Regardless of the explanation, the pen went to the paper and things began to take form.

I thought I'd share with you some first attempts at this pen and ink work, such as they are.

The Artful Dodger - click here for detailsAs much of my journalling takes place at The Artful Dodger pub on Isabella Street in Toronto [shameless plug for my local!], most, but not all, of these pictures are of the people and the little nooks and crannies in the bar.

I hope you enjoy the gallery. Come back from time to time, as I'll be updating the site with new drawings.
